A bit of the problem and our project
The contamination of plastic is classified by the ONU as a global enviromental catastrophe. It is a big problem that affect all of us, all living beings. The plastic is a material that takes thousands of years to degrade. 13.000.000 tons of plastic are filtered every year to the oceans, that is an alarming number.
we want make an impact and try to reduce that number. Our project, No More Plastic, is to make a small change in the university. The first purpose is to reduce the use of single-use plastic, the second is that the students understand the importance of not using single-use plastic and to become aware of the harm it does to our word, that is our home, and the third is that the student understand that reuse is not a real plan, the real help is not use single-use plastic.
The possible difficult is to talk with the students, that they listen the information that we have to say, that they give a littler of their time and that they learn about the problem. This project is important because is a small change, and a lot of small change make a big impact in the world. The planet has a few decades to live and plastic play an important role in this destruction . Around of 100.000 marine animals die each year thanks to the plastic in the oceans. Those animal are living beings that feel and cry, and the single-use plastic that we use hurt them every minute that passes.
Our world asks for help and all of us have to help the place where we live. It is not only for the humans, it is for all living beings around us. The solution or the positive improvement is in our hands. We should make something for the world that gives us everything.
